Duct the Halls

Ductigami: The Art of Tape bookcover

Are you looking for something crafty and inexpensive to give your friends this holiday season? Well look no further! The Duck tape brand website has all kinds of “ducktivities.” My personal holiday favorite is the peppermint striped bracelet. The library also has some good “how to” books on making cool crafts with duct tape. Check these out (literally):

Got Tape? bookcover

After perusing the Duck brand website for awhile I noticed that there is a section on the history of Duck tape. Did you know that it was invented to help the war effort in WWII? At the time it was just plain army green and nameless, but it didn’t take long for people to nickname it “duck” tape because it was waterproof. After the war, civilians started using it on their duct systems and the army green color was changed to gray. Well, things have changed! Duck tape is now available in a variety of colors and patterns and is great for making fun teen crafts!
