Being Green at Franklin

Check out the seedlings that the teens will be transplanting to pots on Monday, April 30! There’s still time to preregister if you’d like to join us. As you can see, we have some lettuce, basil, marigolds and nasturtium that are more than ready to have some more room to grow in a bigger pot! The Franklin teens will also be taking over half of a 16′ by 8′ garden plot in the Franklin Community Garden, thanks to the Friends of the Franklin Avenue Library Board President who is allowing us to borrow it for youth programming this season! Teens are invited to join the Franklin Teen Advisory Board to plant a native rain garden on Monday, May 14th. Check out these “before” pictures, and check back later in the summer for some updates on our progress. More information is available here on rain gardens.
