This Teen Tech Week™ (March 10 – 16) the DMPL invites you to

Check In @ your library!

We’re celebrating our e-books, e-magazines, online homework resources and offering tech-related programs for Des Moines area teens!

Join us on March 12th at the East Side library at 4:00 for Wii gaming or at the Forest Avenue library at 4:00 for Tech Tuesdays to learn how to edit photos online.

On March 13th the South Side library is hosting Wii gaming at 1:30 and the Central library will host a program at 2:30 teaching teens how to recycle old gadgets into new uses!

It’s Oscar Time!


This year’s Academy Awards ceremony is on Sunday, February 24th and many of the movie nominees are based on books!


 The quirky dark comedy Silver Linings  Playbook is based on the novel of the same name by Matthew Quick.


The musical Les Miserables is based on the Broadway smash hit adapted from the classic novel by Victor Hugo.


The moving adventure movie Life of Pi is based on the bestselling novel by Yann Martel.


And the historical drama Lincoln is based, in part, on the popular nonfiction study of Abraham Lincoln and his Cabinet titled Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin.
